The Second Wave
The second wave had 171 planes, they were 54 B5Ns, 81 D3As, and 36 A6Ms, which was commanded by Lieutenant-Commander Shigekazu Shimazaki. Four of the planes failed to launch because of technical difficulties. The first group had 54 B5Ns that were armed with 550 pounds and 120 pounds of general purpose bombs. The 27 B5Ns aircraft and hangars were on Kaneohe, Ford Island, Barbers Point, and on Hickam Field. The second group targeted aircraft and carriers and cruisers. There were 81 D3As that were armed with 550 pounds of general purpose bombs, in for sections. In the third group, they targeted aircraft at Ford Island, Hickam Field, Wheeler Field, Barber's Point, and Kaneohe. Also 36 A6Ms were for defensiveness and strafing.
